Type: Long Term Contract (6-12 months)

Schedule: 1 day per month onsite

Location: Aurora, CO

Hourly Rate: $50/hour

We are seeking a Senior QA Analyst to join an Information Technology team supporting business-critical software applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on QA professional who enjoys owning test strategy, collaborating with stakeholders, and mentoring other QA team members while ensuring high-quality software delivery.

What You'll Do

As a Senior QA Analyst, you will lead testing efforts across enterprise applications and play a key role in ensuring high-quality releases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Estimate QA effort and contribute to sprint planning and backlog grooming
  • Perform unit, system, and user acceptance testing across the SDLC
  • Identify testing risks and proactively escalate issues to leadership
  • Create, track, and resolve defects using Azure DevOps or similar tools
  • Partner closely with IT leadership, business stakeholders, and vendors
  • Support release management activities to ensure smooth code deployments
  • Mentor and support mid-level and junior QA team members
  • Stay current with QA best practices, tools, and industry trends

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of progressive QA experience including unit, system, and UAT testing
  • Strong understanding of full lifecycle SDLC processes
  • Hands-on experience with test planning, execution, and defect management
  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar repositories and QA tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Technical Experience

  • Object-oriented software and application testing
  • Relational databases and SQL (Oracle PL/SQL or MS SQL Server)
  • Web technologies such as HTML, XML, AJAX
  • Web services including REST and SOAP
  • ETL tools or applications a plus
  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred

Nice to Have

  • ISTQB, CSTE, or CSQA certification
